Biography…

Richard Tweney studied classical violin with Joyce Gundy and composition with Dr. Roman Toi, at the Royal Conservatory of Music. He subsequently did his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Toronto, winning the graduating scholarship in his class.

More recently, he pursued a course in fiddle playing with Anne Lederman at the World Music Centre in Toronto. He has been living in Northumberland County since 1988.

He currently plays viola with the Northumberland Symphony Orchestra. He also operates his own private studio and teaches at the Tantramar Music School in Cobourg, Ontario.
